Rice’s Easy Driver Setup Tips
Rice, Supervisor The Club at Savannah Harbor, share two simple driver setup tips. Not only will it help you develop proper form, but it should increase your power and accuracy off the tee box. Check them out below!
1. Ball position
Rice says players should first focus their attention on the position of the ball before hitting it with a driver.
“Put your feet together, [with the] ball in the middle.Just step on the trail foot [back], [with the ball] inside my lead heel.
The position of the ball varies from club to club, so it is important not to place the ball too far forward, middle or back. slice).
2. Tilt back leg
Once you’ve got the right ball position and pulled your trail leg back, Rice suggests lowering your back hand to the same leg and leaning your knee.
“Took [the] Trail hands and reach for trail kneecaps. I have a bit of a slant, but now I can tear it up. ”
By opening the stance of the front leg slightly, the player has more control while rolling the ball and can hit more shots in the sweet spot of the clubface.
Understanding the proper setup can go a long way in improving your tee shot. Rice tips are a solid first step, but it’s important to keep practicing hitting drivers at the range. This will give you a better understanding of what is most comfortable for your swing.
As you find the ball position that works best for you, you’ll be able to tear the ball apart with confidence instead of worrying about swinging the driver.
