The amateur golfer from Georgia recently made a hacker’s dream come true every weekend when an invitation to the Masters arrived in his mailbox.
The invitation was actually intended for PGA Tour pro Scott Stirlings, who entered the Masters field by qualifying for the season-ending Tour championship in 2022.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the real Scott Sterlings said he checked his mailbox five times a day for invitations, but he never got one. Another man reached out to Stirlings on Instagram to let him know he had it after the Augusta National Golf Club accidentally sent it to his condo.
“Hi Scott,” the man wrote. “My name is Scott Starlings and I’m from. [Georgia]My wife’s name is also Jennifer! …today I received her FedEx from the Masters inviting her to attend the April 6-9, 2023 Masters Tournament. [100%] this is not for me. I’m playing but it’s amazing! [Nowhere] close to your level. ”

The man offered to forward the invitation to Storlings.
“It’s a very nice package with everything you need to participate,” the man wrote. increase.”
At the Sentry Tournament of Champions on Monday, Stirlings said he used to have a sports management company with offices on St. Simons Island. The other man’s apartment building is next to an office building, and the Stallings can only guess the delivery person who thought the invitation was there.
Stallings said he wasn’t too concerned about the lost invitation.
“Honestly, I thought my wife was infected and was doing something for Christmas,” Sterlings said Monday. He didn’t even think about it. ”
Both Stallings are scheduled to appear in Augusta, and the PGA player said on Monday, “For doing the right thing, I gave him some tickets to the practice rounds and took him out to dinner on Monday night. I plan to go there.”
The 37-year-old Sterling is a three-time PGA Tour champion, most recently at the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open in Torrey Pines. The last time his world-ranked 54th-ranked Starlings made it to the Masters was in 2014, when he failed to qualify. He was his tie for 27th at the 2012 Augusta National.
