Grand Baie, Mauritius – Antoine Rosner and Alfredo García Heredia praised the atmosphere on the island after battling for the lead with Sami Balimaki at the Mauritius Open on Friday.
Rosner went 8-under 64, one shot ahead of Garcia Heredia and Balimaki (10-under 134 overall) after two rounds at Mont Choisir Golf on the Indian Ocean island.

“When you’re done fishing or you can go fishing in the morning, it’s relaxing,” he said. “I’m doing well. I’m playing well, I’m putting well.”
Rosner, with eight birdies, said it was one of the few times in his career that he was “happy with every score on every hole”.
Balimaki was the night’s leader after a course-record 62, but the Finn’s two-round 72 was a mix of five birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.
South Africa’s Oliver Becker (71) took the lead by one stroke, while the trio of Casey Jarvis (67), Christopher Bring (69) and Pierre Pinault (71) led another one.
Three of the tournament’s last five were decided by playoffs. This event had been canceled for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
